Guess what, I had my Optionality tab open for all these months in the hope that I’ll get to all the conversations. I did not want to close the tab with the same fear that I’ll forget.

It worked, I finally read my first!

Having said that I always wonder how my sister is surviving without tech and gadgets enabling her life and then I also marvel at the fact that she is surviving without tech and gadgets.

My spidey sense keeps telling me that productivity won't be the KPI for people in the future. Machines will always win this race. They always have.

Maybe instead of asking yourself, "Am I productive?" the question is, "Where am I having an impact?"

Or do you think there's a different question?

I wonder if we should ask ourselves a couple of questions that acknowledge that some work has to get done that isn't exactly transformative.

So yes to asking where did I make an impact? Or what did I transform?

But also we should ask what did I keep going? What did I make more sustainable?

And so on.

Yes and...transformation wasn't my KPI either.

A proactive thought.

Impact could be anything.

Where we mess up is assuming the definition of impact is the same.

You might think "Yes! Sustainability" or I might think "Yes! More transformative!"

KPIs are indicators of future success.

If we're thinking different things.

No one will be happy.

First off, I love the melting clocks, which I presume were generated by DALL-E.

I cracked up reading this post, as I think I do exactly all the same things you mentioned except for one: my handwriting is so bad, that the few times that I find myself forced to write things by hand, I end up not being able to read them later :-)

Hah! The clocks were generated in Midjourney, but good guess. My husband thinks that all that is wrong in my life can be blamed on me having too many open tabs. Just think of how much better life would be if only I closed a few!

That’s funny. My spouse is also weirdly opposed to my number of open tabs LOL
