OMG, this so resonates! I should all over myself all the time, then I later realize that the only reason I'm suffering is because of my expectations. Shedding shoulds "should" be a weekly practice!
This is an intriguing suggestion, Lori...what would that look like? Do you do regular Journaling or recapping or planning where you could incorporate such a practice?

My "process" is to put up sticky notes to remind myself to do things. For a while I had one that simply said "Grace" and it was a quiet reminder to be present to grace. I can also imagine "de-shoulding" as an exercise you could do in an empowerment session. Many of women's "shoulds" are dictated by societal expectations, and it could be freeing to try one of what Joan Williams calls a "strategic no" -- yes to one thing that appeals to you and offer the other thing to someone for whom it will either be their turn or an opportunity for them to grow. So many ways to shed!
