06/12/25 Conversationality: Contingency Planning

How do you balance living in the present while thinking about Plan B and beyond?

It seems kind of contradictory for

and I to be talking about Optionality’s June theme of contingency planning and also about the value of living in the present moment.

But two things can be true. It feels necessary to not allow wallowing in the past or obsessing about the future to leave you blind to the opportunities of today. It also does not feel mentally healthy to ignore everything going right, right now, in favor of planning for everything that could wrong tomorrow.

That’s the challenge before us, which we try to tease out in this #Conversationality, and which we’ll be asking other experts to weigh on throughout the month. We hope you’ll join us throughout the month.

Join us Wednesday June 18th at 12PM PT/3PM ET for our June webinar. We’re re-visiting the topic of caregiving, and how to prepare for the inevitability of caregiving and its impact on you as an individual, your team, your organization. Elisa will be joined by caregiver advocates who also bring their own lived experience to the discussion, and Consuela Marshall. The recording will be sent to all who register, so sign up even if you can’t make it live.
