and I go back about 20 years with Brian Solis. We were there together for the beginning of one big transformation (from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0). Brian has ridden the wave of innovation after innovation by leading with curiosity. Brian has also embodied the concept of optionality. Brian has maintained jobs at super large Fortune 500 companies while continuing to write books, speak around the world, and even consciously slowed down to level up his time spent with family while doing all of the above. He also generously agreed to be one our Optionality Advisors.
So naturally, we are on board to support his latest book launch, just this week! He joined this week’s Conversationality to talk about his new book,Mindshift: Transform Leadership, Drive Innovation, and Reshape the Future. This conversation talks about not just what he did as described above, but a bit of the how. Plus he tells an amazing story from the book about how Ikea looked at automation and AI as more than a layoff engine, but as an opportunity to reskill workers into an entirely new business that has grown wildly. It gives me hope; I hope you get a lot out of it too.
to talk about what is scary and not scary about generative AI!
