In this edition of Conversationality Jory Des Jardins and Elisa Camahort Page are joined by
co-host Lynne d Johnson. Lynne is a true optionality-seeker and has a long view of the media and content landscape. If our Conversationality of two weeks ago focused on a wild week in America, this week was a week of good vibes. We covered some diverse ground, including:Lynne’s work as a professor at a Labor School, where she teaches a course on class, race, and gender to prospective electricians. Over her decade doing this work, she has seen the demographics in her classrooms change, and she has seen the interest in and commitment to the importance of her course topic change, too!
Of all the media channels across all the media platforms, why focus on podcasting? Bonus question: Why is Threads so fun right now, and can it stay that way?
If you were hiring a running mate for your Presidential run, what would you look for? At the end of the day, Democratic candidate Vice President Harris seemed to do the classic hiring approach of filling in her gaps and looking for complementary traits and skills.
We all agree that the photo of the Olympics is this one: a feel-good manifestation of the camaraderie and teamwork Olympic gymnasts across genders and nations have demonstrated over the last two weeks. It proves that success for one can really be celebrated for all…and is perhaps an indicator that the US gymnastic team is finally free of toxic leadership? 🤞🏼
If you missed it live, take an opportunity to watch the recording, and if you don’t already know Lynne, you should. Here’s where to find her:
